Dishwashing

Of all the chores I don’t adore

I don’t adore dishwashing more

The soap the stink

The clink and tink

It does quite bring me to the brink

I’ll scrub a toilet all day long

Just spare me from these awful tongs

I’ll carry on and sweep all day

But from dirty plates I’ll stay away

I have no fear of muddy floors

But scraping pans I do abhore

---

So do consider what I ask

I’m up to almost any task

But save me from a dirty dish

It is my simple honest wish
